Desktop shortcuts no longer work in MacOS Sierra

Description
Prior you upgrading to MacOS Sierra, I had a desktop shortcut for my windows XP system using Virtual Box. After the MacOS upgrade, the short cut no longer works. The icon has even changed to a blank white icon. I have tried deleting the shortcut and recreating it from the virtual box panel. It does create a new shortcut, but the same blank icon that does nothing. If i launch the panel and run my VB of windows XP it works fine.

I attached the Alias file it created. Even the logo is missing. I really don't want to reinstall as is takes a while to put everything back into windows.

This appears to be working here but there might some differences in our setups. Can you attach the Alias file on the desktop to this ticket? You might also try whether reinstalling VirtualBox solves your problem.
