Bug when copying from network to desktop in VM

Description
When i try to copy from a network folder onto the desktop of a virtual machine i get the following error
Drag and drop error from host (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND). Result Code: VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005) Component: GuestWrap Interface: IGuest {13a11514-402e-022e-6180-c3944de3f9c8}
It then becomes impossible to copy anything to the desktop of the VM regardless of where it is coming from until you reboot it. The only way round is to copy to the desktop then to the VM which isn't perfect but it works.
Is this a known bug or is it "functioning as designed"?

This is a feature that is clearly described as copying files between host and guest only (mind you, no network mentioned), it's limited as copying-only goes, and it has a known workaround for your network operation.
I see a lot of "Hellos" in your future... :D

My point was, that after copying from the network to the virtual machine you get an error...this is all well and good BUT then the virtual machine stops copying anything from anywhere....is that the right behaviour?

There is a guide that can help you troubleshoot this: Investigating drag and drop (DnD) problems. Please read it and take the appropriate action.
