Reported by: | MYOS | Owned by: | |

Description
After the update to the new version 5.2.6 now the audio in my Virtual Box which is running windows is not working. I had this issue some versions ago and just deactivate the audio and then activate again and works, but now is just not working and for me is vital to have audio, since I have audio alerts running.
Any comments or help on this matter.
Thanks

There's nothing to proceed to. You'll have to wait until it gets fixed (hopefully). If it was working in the previous version, you can always downgrade if you can't be patient enough.

The description is pretty vague ...what does "not working" mean? No audio output at all? Distorted output? Input not working ...?
Please provide all the required data according to this article to this defect: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/AudioDebug
Thanks.

Many thanks, can you refer me to a 'How to' process in order to make the downgrade from the version 5.2.6. It was working perfectly in the previous version and again thanks.

There's no "HowTo":
- You uninstall 5.2.6.
- You install 5.2.4.
It can't be that difficult, right?

You are right mate, I just made it and now is working again. I downgraded to the version 5.1.32 for MacOS and audio is working again. Many thanks for your help and patience.

That's not a solution actually, that's borderline a workaround, and not a good one either. I have an OSX host (10.11.6) and plenty of Windows guests. It works on all of them...
Do you want to continue this discussion in the VirtualBox forums? That's the place for discussion actually, and once we reach a consensus, then if there is a need we go to the ticket tracker. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of.
So, if you can, please open a new thread in the VirtualBox on Mac OS X Hosts section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number. Make sure that you include a ZIPPED VBox.log from a complete startup/observe-problem/shutdown session.
Duplicate of #17225.
And probably a gazillion other ones ;)
