VB 5.2.6 Guest Additions not working on Fedora 27/Cinnamon

After installing VB 5.2.6 Guest Additions on Fedora 27, the normal GUI (Cinnamon in my case) fails to come up. The virtual consoles (ctrl-alt-Fn) are working.

Workaround (as root):

# systemctl disable vboxadd

# systemctl disable vboxadd-service

then reboot (but then shared folders don't come up). Didn't have this problem with previous version.

There are two other workarounds:

• Disable 3D acceleration.
• Install the 5.2.7 GAs, see the Downloads page, note the "Important" part.
