GRUB countdown problem

Description
The file /etc/default/grub contains GRUB_TIMEOUT=5 by default . After starting my Guest OS , it will show a sentence "The highlighted entry will be executed automatically in 5s" . VirtualBox has such a problem that makes GRUB (That's Guest OS ,but not host OS) unable to show this sentence when it's countdowning at 5s . After countdowning at 5s , GRUB shows 4s 3s 2s and 1s very normally . This problem doesn't always appear ,but only sometimes appears

I created some snapshots before installing unknown softwares in the Guest OS .And I restored a snapshot to ensure there aren't any viruses or errors . So I think that's a VirtualBox problem , not viruses or errors

I'm sorry, but what you're saying doesn't compute. VirtualBox doesn't have a clue that you have GRUB installed (or anything else for that matter). What GRUB does or doesn't do, that's a GRUB issue. Restoring a snapshot has absolutely nothing to do with your GRUB choices.

I didn't find the same problem on my Host OS or in VMware . I tried VMware but didn't find the same problem .

This is not a VirtualBox problem, since VirtualBox doesn't have a clue about GRUB. If you can, please provide clear steps to reproduce the problem and show indeed that it's a VirtualBox problem, otherwise I believe that the ticket could be "Invalid".

May I suggest something? It's usually better and faster, if issues like this one (configuration, question) get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".
So, if you can, please open a new thread in the Linux Guests section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number.
