Component: | audio | Version: | VirtualBox 5.2.18 |

Description
Steps to reproduce
- Install Windows 10 into a virtual machine.
- Upgrade it to latest fast ring insider build (at the time of this report 17741).
- Notice that audio is working as expected.
- From settings; update and security; reset perform reset of this machine.
- Notice, that audio sounds horribly.
I'm Attaching a logs before and after reset, audio files dumped before a reset and after a reset. This issue is very important, because it affect also a clean installations of recent Insider builds into Virtual Box vms, and it prevents blind people like me from doing it independently. I've also verified, that the driver used for the sound card is the same before and after the reset.

The dumped audio files are too big to be attached, so I've placed them on Google drive

This is still happening with build 17754 and Virtual Box version 5.2.19 r124848. Can this be looked into please?

I just had a quick peek into the files, and in the "before reset" ones there is a very fast speaking voice audible -- is this intentional, e.g did you use speech synthesis to create those files? Do the .WAV files in the "before reset" case really sound as they should sound like to you?

Additional question: Does this only happen with Win10 build 17741 to you?

Hi, Yes in the first set of recordings the speech synthesizer is set whit a speed with is perfectly understandable for me, but might not be for less experienced screen reader users. As i said in commend 2 this is still happening with build 17554 and VBox version 5.2.19 r124848

Still happening with build 17763 running under Virtual Box 5.2.19 r125117. Build 17763 is believed to be an rtm so this issue is even more critical.

We don't support Windows Insider Builds as such, only the latest official build (RTM).

Replying to pentagonik:
We don't support Windows Insider Builds as such, only the latest official build (RTM).
Now the 17763 is officially released and it is still happening with VirtualBox version 5.2.19 r125384 .

It just came out today! Give VirtualBox a day or two...
Or a week or two...
Or, given how difficult the audio issues are to iron out, a month or two... ;)

Is this about the distortion issue? If so, still with us. https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=85695
