I couldn't see anything wrong in the log file. For the first issue that you mentioned, please make sure that your guests are set up to use the correct keyboard layout. They do not automatically use the host's layout. For the second, guests on Linux hosts are currently unable to use dead accent keys (see #599 for an explanation). You can work around this by temporarily setting the host to US keyboard layout (the guest will not be affected) or by using the VBoxSDL frontend.

Hi
I have problem with keyboard keymapings. As host I'm using Linux, as guest Windows 2000. Under Windows 2000 I can't use arrow keys, PgUp, PgDn, End, Home. I don't have any error messages. Switching to US keyboard layout in host doesn't help to me (Vbox 1.5.6). Everything is seem to be ok in configuration, but problem with keyboard is very annoying.
Any suggestions?

No I'm not using special setup for X. I've tried use only VBoxSDL, and that problem is still open. The same issue with Vbox 1.6.2.

If you get the problem both with the VirtualBox and the VBoxSDL front-ends then it may be a problem of your host keyboard set-up, as the two use completely different methods of translating keystrokes.

my keyboard configuration in xorg.conf:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1" Driver "kbd"
Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "pl"
EndSection
Seems to be ok.

Have you tried a different guest to see if you have the same problems there? Like a Linux live CD for example?
Yes, I've tried on linux guest with the same result. VBoxSDL is problematic, because using VirtualBox everything seems to be OK. It was mine mistake. I'm sorry. Only using VBoxSDL I have problem with arrow keys and PgUp,PgDn ....

Finally I've fixed it recompiling xorg-server without hal support.
Thanks

I will close this ticket. If you continue to have problems, please test with version 2.0.2 of VirtualBox and post to ticket #2052 if necessary.
Is there any keyboard-related information in the VirtualBox log file? In the main VirtualBox window, select one of the machines affected by the problem and choose "Machine" -> "Show log..." from the menus.
