Very high energy consumption by 6.1.8 on Mac OS X

Description
With 6.1.8 on MacOS I'm was seeing very high energy consumption, so much so that my battery level was dropping despite being plugged in. I had to downgrade to 6.1.6.

Unless you see similar reports I would now take this with a grain of salt. After downgrading to 6.1.6 things were okay for a several hours, but then I started seeing the same problem again. My battery level would start dropping even while plugged in. So maybe it was just coincidence that this started with my 6.1.8 upgrade.
I will update this ticket if there is new information. Otherwise like I said, take it with a grain of salt.
