Description
Using a disk image (.vmdk) created using vmware, the virtual machine starts booting, but gets stuck.

You need to make sure the VBox virtual machine hardware is identical to the VMWare environment. IO-APIC for starters. See also http://virtualbox.org/wiki/Migrate_Windows
