Screen tearing and size changing

Description
Using VirtualBox v 7.0.8 with guest extensions and OpenSuse Leap 15.4 with Gnome 41.8 on the host and Windows 10 on the guest. When resizing the VBox screen the size of the screen jumps around and the screen contents tear. Tearing is not a big issue but the size jumping around is. I cannot select the size I want.
The issue has been on going for many versions of all of the software involved. The guest can be Windows or Linux.
