Windows 98 boot disk hangs

When using a win98 or WinME boot disk it hangs after the sentence "Copyright 1990 - 1997 Adaptec, Inc." if the "Start computer with CD-ROM support" option is choosen. I've been using VB since v. 1.6.4 this summer and this error has been present in all versions since, including v. 1.6.4. The boot disks I'm using is downloaded from ​http://www.allbootdisks.com. Unfortunately I've no other boot disk to try with so i can't figure it out if it's an error in the boot disk images or in VB.

However, I found a thread about the same problem in the forum (​http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?p=29636&sid=39aaee5f700cd7fa28ac117c8c07c0a5 + a cross post from the same user) but that user didn't got any replies so maybe this is error just affects a small amount of users.

I had the same problem. I got over it with the following: (It only works with ATAPI/IDE CD-ROM's)

Boot to the Disk-Menu Select No. 2 (Boot without CD-ROM) Start Edit Edit your config.sys (delete all ASPI* lines) Save the changes

Restart your xVM Session... voila :-)

Works fine with VirtualBox 4.3.26 under Ubuntu 14.04. The Windows 98 and 98 SE CD iso images and floppy images works properly.
