Component: | other | Version:
Keywords: | Windows 11 Guest, freeze on boot, number of processors greater than 8 | Cc:
Guest type: | all | Host type: | Windows |
Description (last modified by )
Host: Intel i9-14900HX (24 Cores, 32 Threads); 128 GB RAM
Guest (Windows 11 23H2 Build 4169): 16 Cores; 16 GB RAM; video 256 MB, 3D enabled
VirtualBox Version: VirtualBox-7.1.1-164917-Win / VBoxGuestAdditions_7.1.1-164871 / Oracle_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-7.1.1-164917
The Problem:
With Windows 11 23H2 as a guest, the virtual environment freezes when booting if more than 8 processors are assigned (VBoxSVGA, 3D enabled)
With VBoxVGA (without 3D) 12 processors are possible (without the virtual environment freezing on Boot)
If there are more than 12 processors assigned, the virtual environment crashes when booting (blue screen) regardless of the graphics setting
With Windows 10 as a guest there are no restrictions or no problems
The green bar in the settings for the processors under VirtualBox goes up to 24 processors.
Otherwise, kudos and thanks to the developers of Virtualbox. For help, i thank you in advance.
