VirtualBox Debian guest "Aborted" when pressing Ctrl-C on Windows 11 Host
Reported by: | justino | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | clipboard | Version: | VirtualBox-7.1.0 |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Guest type: | Linux | Host type: | Windows |
Description (last modified by )
VirtualBox Debian guest ends in "Aborted" when pressing Ctrl-C on Windows 11 Host in a completely different normal windows window when bidirectional clipboard is enabled.
For some reason I think VirtualBox is interpreting the Ctrl-C as a shutdown.
I've been having this problem for quite a few minor version updates now and just now reporting.

Hi justino,
The only explanation I could think of at the moment is probably there is a shortcut set up in File -> Preferences -> Input.
comment:4 by , 6 weeks ago
I checked it and Virtual Machine input preferences says Host key is right Ctrl and the Quit key is Q, I am pressing Left Ctrl-C for clipboard copy and some reason that is making the VM abort. I don't see any other assignments to Ctrl-C or Host-C.

Hello, I have some new insight about this bug. I just caused a VM crash by doing a Edit->Copy in an application on the host OS while the guest OS was running in the background. This indicates the issue is with the clipboard handling, not hotkeys. Any idea how we can get a solution for this? Thanks

By the way it was just a text copy, no weird objects or images or anything of that sort.
Hi justino,
Could you please attach complete VBox.log?
