VirtualBox crashes at creation of vhd

Description
Any time I create a new virtual disk, windows encounters and error and wants to send an error report. Hostsystem: Windows XP SP2, HP nc8430

hmmm.... really strange... I have it working on XP without a hinch !
Could you try on a different (friend's) computer and try to figure out what's the difference ?
You must provide more info...
