Description
Windows XP host, Solaris 10 guest. I have a 105-key US english keyboard (Logitech cordless) whose receiver connects to my host via a usb-to-ps2 converter. The Solaris guest seems to be stuck on UK keyboard layout or something, because I can't get my bloody pipe symbol ( | ) to work, which is debilitating on UNIX... Instead I get tilde ( ~ ) or hash ( # ) characters, and from shift-3 I get pound ( £ ) characters. My host is running in normal US English, and the Keyboards part of the Host (XP) Control Panel reports "Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard".

Please reopen if still relevant. In that case attach a VBox.log file of such a session and make sure to test the latest release (currently VBox 3.1.4).
I'm having the exact same issue on Virtualbox 2.1.4 running Debian GNU/Linux 4.0r3.
