Installed ver 2.1 over 2.06 on Xandros Pro 4.1. Install seems to be O.K. until it try to start a vm. Then either it aborts or the window closes and the vm shows it is running, but nothing else happens.

Are there any messages in the kernel log (dmesg)? It seems to me that the VM aborts. Could you provide a core dump?

How would I do a core dump? Also I noticed that somehow I clicked that it is a linux guest when it should be a linux host.

I should also mention that I purged 2.1 from my system and reinstalled 2.06 even though I had to setup my vm's again. Fortunatly the vdi's were not affected. Sorry if this complicates things. Can you recommend a way to install 2.1 that should work? I'm using Xandro Pro 4.1.

See here on how to generate a core dump. You should install 2.1 again. After you started the 2.1 GUI, it will convert your .xml files to a new format but you can leave the old format. After you generated the core dump you can uninstall 2.1 and re-install 2.0.6. Then, before starting the GUI again, use the backed up .xml files in the .VirtualBox directory. Go through all sub-directories and copy the old files over the current files.

I tried to do the Core dump but I get to the line which requires sudo and it keeps saying that I do not have permission. I tried running as superuser and I still can't seem to generate it. Any other Idea's?

So sudo does not work for you? Then you have to add you to the /etc/sudoers file, see man sudoers
.

I believe I have been able to create a the core dump. Unfortunatly in zipped form it exceeds the upload size limit (it is over 5 meg). So how can I get it to you?

Hmm, did I miss this message? Is this problem still current with the latest release 2.2.2? If so, could you provide a core dump? If so, please contact me directly at frank _dot_ mehnert _at_ sun _dot _com_. Thank you!

After installing release 2.2.4 it all seems to work properly. So I assume this is solved.
