Description
Hi all
I have a Guest Windows XP machine with 512MB of memory and 128MB of video running in a Virtualbox hosted on a Opensolaris 2008.11 with VT-X/ADM-V enabled.
I installed the Skype version (3.5.0.229) which is the best to run inside the Virtual Machine and all Windows updates but then the problem starts.
I can use Skype for like 10 minutes and then the system begin to slow down until a point where I can't do a thing instead of closing it because no commands are acceptable from that point.
I've tried using a VM with a Windows without any updates but I got the same problem. I also tried to raise the memory of the machine to 1GB but I got nothing.
The solution I got it was to downgrade to VirtualBox 2.0.2 which is running now without any problem until now.
Do you guys have any idea? Or else I can continue using 2.0.2 but I thought I could use the new release.
Thank You

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 3.1.2. In that case, please attach a VBox.log of such a session.
I also just started having problems with Skype on Windows XP running on a MacOS X, and I think I need to downgrade as well. Skype is now taking 100% of the cpu. There are other forum comments about using USB devices on the host when starting VirtualBox (bad), but I'm not doing that. What are the implications for recreating my XP environment on top of a down rev VirtualBox? The last time I upgraded VirtualBox, I remember seeing messages that looked like the config file formats were changing. Am I going to be able to downgrade and get the same XP environment?
