Mandriva 2009.0 VirtualBox 2.0.2 (latest from distro)
Trying to install Windows XP from IBM recovery CDs: "Product Recovery CD for ThinkPad G40 Type 2387, 2388, 2389"
Installation appears to start. Initial (W98 (installer)) messages scroll onto screen, then screen is cleared while CD is accessed for some time (3+ minutes). Then the error "Your BIOS is not compatible with this Product Recovery CD." and a C:\> prompt.

Why did you open a defect for this? A virtual machine doesn't look anything like your original IBM hardware. Hence the installation check fails as it is bound to your IBM hardware like all OEM versions. There are ways to try to convince the installer to continue. Look at our forum for hints.
