Description
Hi all,
I am using 32 bit ubuntu gutsy gibbon 7.10. kernel version is 2.6.22.16-generic and I cannot run/install 64-bit operating system. it tells me that the machine that I have is 32-bit (x86) only. I thought that 2.1.4 can run 64-bit guest OS on top of 32 bit kernel? My processor is Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 which support VT-x. I don't know if it is enabled but I think it is because in the BIOS there is no option about enabling/disabling virtualization so I am assuming that it is enabled by default. Any ideas how I could proceed with the problem?

VT-x is disabled by your BIOS and it's not possible to enable it. Try to find an update for your BIOS if there is one. Otherwise you're unfortunately out of luck.
