---|---|---|---|
Component: | network/hostif | Version: | VirtualBox 2.1.4 |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Guest type: | Windows | Host type: | Windows |
Description
Repo:
- The host machine runs windows server 2003 sp2.
- Create a guest system with hosted interface. (I tested with Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows Server 2003).
- Host and Guests use static ip addresses.
- Unplug the network cable.
- Plug in cable again.
- The guest machines is not accessible from outside.
An external machine can ping the host, but not the guests. The host can ping external machines and the guests. A guest can ping the host or other guests, but not external machines.
The only way to solve it is to reboot the guest machine.

Can you try VirtualBox 2.2 Beta 2 please? http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/2.2.0_BETA2

The problem remains in VirtualBox 2.2 beta2
On another machine, I didn't encounter this problem. I guess maybe it's related to the network card of the host machine. It's ASUS P5K PRO Motherboard. From the device manager, I can see the network adapter is Marvel Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
