- It does not work as described in the manual. I post it to the forum.
- Each feature that is not accessabil over a GUI is a bug!
=> so reopen this ticked as a feature-request to add functionalities like this to the gui.

A GUI has been added for the upcoming version 1.4. Besides that, it does work as described in the manual.
And no: not every feature is GUI accessible and it will remain like this for a lot of not so common features. Shared Folders already have a nice GUI, build SVN if you don't believe it.

The GUI of 1.4.0 does half-job. It enables sharing, but I have to mount that share manually on the guest, which is unacceptable. It should auto-mount the shared folder on the Windows guest.
Not sure about the Linux guest, as there are no drive letters.
I think the GUI should allows me to choose which drive letter I want to mount the shared folder for Windows guest and to which directory to mount for Linux guest.
This procedure should be automatic, and user-friendly.

It works as designed. I'll make shared folders browsable, but that's all. Once you map it in the guest, Windows will remember it.
VBox is able to do that as well. See Shared Folders in the manual.
