Description
As a user of an open-source distro, when I install the VirtualBox package that comes with it I'm using the open source version. However, if I'm interested in using a feature that is only available in the FREE (non-open-source) version I'm forced to install a different version of VirtualBox (an rpm downloadable from the official website, right?).
However, this process should be easier. There should be some option to manage "add-ons", and that you could install them directly downloading them from the internet. This way you could be using an open-source version + a non-open-source plugin (for instance, I'm interested in USB support, which I believe it's not available yet as open-source).
Unfortunately this is not possible, since the non-open-source parts are not structured as plugins -- they're just source modules (c/cpp/h). If you want to use the non-open-source version you have to download the separate RPM and install it instead of using the OSE version. Closing this defect.
