Windows guest additions in W2K prevent Age of Kings from installing

Description
I have installed W2K to a VirtualBox Guest. The host is Linux. I then updated the system to latest patches and have the latest patches installed. When I try to install Age of Kings it gets stuck on 4%. I managed to get it installed by uninstall the quest additions and killing the VboxServer process.
