Description
I have no success booting EMC2 http://www.linuxcnc.org/iso/emc2-ubuntu6.06-desktop-i386.iso Live-ISO-Image with VirtualBox 1.4.0 (this CNC-Machine Control Live-Image is based on Ubuntu 6.06 + RTAI patches). I am fully aware, that running real-time extensions in Virtual environment might be a far reach, but it would still be nice if it would boot, even if the real-time constraints are not possibly held.

You are probably using a broken linux kernel version in your Ubuntu guest. Make sure your kernel is at least 2.6.19.
