I have already tried : 1.Giving the concerned user 'read' and 'execute' priveleges 2.Sharing the concerned VM and its hard disk 3.Copying the VM into the '.VirtualBox' folder of the concerned user
None of the above steps have worked out.
I'm a novice user, so i would really appreciate if thr reply is more elaborate on how I should tackle this problem.

Please use the forum to ask questions. This is a bug tracker and your report is clearly not a VirtualBox bug.
All the config and disk files need to be at least writable.
