Explerer gone really slow after installing VBox

Description
I tried installing VBox 2.2.4-47978 on Intel 3 GHz, 4GB RAM, WinXP SP3 and dualcore server running WinServer 2003 with all updates. The result was a very slow load of the windows explorer. I did not start any virual machines. Just installed VBox and then I have to wait around 20 seconds to view My Computer info after pressing winKey+e (call the explorer). On the server it was a little bit faster - around 15 seconds, but the slowdown was really unexpected. After uninstallation of Vbox everything works fast as expected. I don`t know how this is happening but that is.

Just to be sure: You did not install the guest additions on the host by any chance, did you. No you should not do this but I want to be sure. If you want to do some more tests you could try to install VirtualBox without support for host networking and check if that makes any difference. I cannot remember of such a report before ...
