Description (last modified by )
Every time i try to create a new virtual drive (for a Linux openSuSE 64bit guest) i get the following error: Die virtuelle Festplatte H:\Dateien\Linux\virtualmachine_images\openSuSEvirtualbox.vdi konnte nicht erzeugt werden. Could not save the settings file 'C:\Users\black\.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml' (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED).
Details: Fehlercode: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004) Komponente: VirtualBox Interface: IVirtualBox {3f4ab53a-199b-4526-a91a-93ff62e456b8}
Both files exist. So that shouldn't be the problem. I can't find a VBox.log file. VirtualBox 3.0.2 is installed the first time on my computer.

It seems that VBox is not allowed to write the denoted files. Please check the permissions. Is the current user able to write these files? Try to open the .xml file manually with an editor and try to save it. Does that work?

I can open the file, change it and save it. If i reopen the file the changes are there, so it should be no problem with the permissions.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.2.6.
