Description
In Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 or 9.04 after holding ctrl- button virtualbox interprets it like a long hold on ctrl- button e.g. if you want user ctrl + V for past or ctrl + c for copy.
You only can stop it if you press ESC or another button on your keyboard.

Are you talking about the right Ctrl key (which has a special meaning in VirtualBox) or are you talking about the left key?

I talk about the left Ctrl-key. It is always if you copy in or copy out something of the clipboard.
Then very often this key hangs and can not be stopped by the user directly. Sometimes the text of the clipboard is copied into the textfile where the mouse cursor is set.

You can find the problem in every version of VirtualBox since version 3.0 and even in 3.0.12.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.0.4.
I forgot that ubuntu runs as guest.
