Description
I have an Optiplex 755 with latest BIOS running Windows XP SP2. The virtualization support in BIOS is enabled and a utility from Intel says my processor supports Virtualization.
When I start a 64bits guest VBox inmediatly states that the hardware virtualization function is not functional and asks me to check de BIOS.
I'm trying to install OpenSUSE 11.2@x86_64 (in development) but also tried with Windows 7 64bits.

Your BIOS hasn't turned on VT-x properly. Try to find an update. We can't fix this problem for you.

I'm running latest BIOS update, I'll check with Dell support. Thanks

For clarification: your BIOS has not enabled VT-x and has locked the mechanism to enable it. This means the setting can't be changed until the system is rebooted.
Note that I've seen quite a few BIOSes of several vendors that messed up VT-x enabling one way or the other.

Apparently it's a bug, dunno... Checked with a utility (http://www.grc.com/files/securable.exe) and it also reports the feature as disabled.
Would be nice to have this fixed by Dell, but as this is at the office, the people from helpdesk are contemplating to simple swap the machine with another one...
