Description (last modified by )
I've been installing Windows XP Professional with SP2 on my 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04 (Athlon64 X2, SMP and video hardware acceleration in VirtualBox enabled) and since it takes so long (more than one hour) I launched Google Earth in the meantime to play with. First the VirtualBox instance running the Windows XP installation crashed completely and when I restarted it and the installation process continued it then killed the Google Earth running on host.
Sounds like either the SMP emulation is not isolated properly yet or the installation tried some video hardware initialization that would collide with the Google Earth using OpenGL. I'd bet on the former.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.2.6. If so then I assume this is a bug in the Linux display driver.
