Description
Just upgraded VB from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4 on Windows XP. Upgrading the guest additions failed with the error that the driver for the VirtualBox Graphics Adapter has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. I've tried uninstalling the previous guest additions and get the same error.
The host is also XP.
The guest is configured with 16MB of video RAM with 3D Acceleration disabled.

It's not an error, it's a warning. Just ignore it.

The error can't be ignored - it rolls back the whole installation of the guest additions.
Is there any other information I could provide to assist?

Where did you get the guest additions ISO from? Please also include a VBox.log from your Windows session.

The guest additions ISO was the one that was mounted when I selected to install guest additions. The version of the executables on the ISO is 3.0.4.
I've attached the vbox.log file from a session where I boot the guest, attempt to install the guest additions (which fail), and then shut down the guest.

Thanks for the additional information. Could you confirm that installing the 3.0.2 additions works? (it can be found here: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.0.2/VBoxGuestAdditions_3.0.2.iso)

Surprisingly no, they did not. Which led me back down the history of the VM, which included joining it to the domain while running VBox 3.0.2. Looks like our IT folks are pushing out policy to not load unsigned drivers:
Recommend closing this as not an issue.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I wasn't aware that you could force XP not to accept drivers that haven't passed WHQL certification.
I'll leave this defect open as we still want WHQL certification at some point in the future.

The biggest problem of WHQL, is that it does not work well with fast release schedule.
In other words, WHQL is incompatible with Open-Source practices of "release often".
VirtualBox team could make one single ultra-stable and ultra-tested release, and submit it to WHQL. (including Guest Additions) This release could be used by customers who require WHQL certification.
