Guest type: | Solaris | Host type: | Linux |
Description (last modified by )
Getting IPv6 running on openSolaris (as client) don't work at all with the IntelPro 1000 Mt Desktop, and a little bit better on with PC-net Fast III.
Autoconfiguring don't work with both adapter. With static configuration is the only way to get IPv6 working. For the Inzter Pro 1000, pinging the server (Linux) is only possible id the interface is set in promicuitous mode (Launching snoop).
Configuration Host Fedora 11 guest Solaris 2009.6. Services on the Host radvd eg dhpc6s

The problem seem to be related to the compiler used for producing the additions. The guest was first installed with the standard packages and then gcc as well as the runtime environment was added. The "default" gcc package is 3.4.3. After installing the gcc 4.3.2 IPv6 configuration work, at least with the pcnet fast III netwirk device well.
