Mini Toolbar doesnt show at bottom of screen in seamless mode

Description
After Upgrading to 3.0.4 , the mini toolbar never opens up at the bottom of the screen in seamless mode.
If the option of showing it on the top is selected then the position & animation is incorrect if mouse is overed over the mini toolbar.
Linux Ubuntu 9.0.4 running Virtual Windows XP SP2

Problem still occurs in Version 3.1.2 r56127. I am running Win XP Pro (32 bit) guest on Ubuntu 9.10 (64 bit) host. Ubuntu host is running Gnome desktop 2.28.1. There is no mini-toolbar at the bottom of the screen in seamless mode. It is possible to display the mini-toolbar at the top of the screen, but the position appears to be incorrect (shifted down by about 1 toolbar's width).
Note that Ubuntu 9.10 (32 bit) guest running on Win XP Pro (32 bit) host appears to display the mini-toolbar correctly.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 3.2.8.
I have had the same problem with Vbox 3.0.4 and later under a host Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit and I am still having it with Vbox 3.0.10 under a host Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit.
