Version: 3.0.6 r52128 Host: OS X 10.4.11
If you install VirtualBox.app into /Applications, then move it to somewhere else, it no longer starts, and this appears in console.log:
VirtualBox: supR3HardenedVerifyDir: Failed to open "/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS": No such file or directory (2)

Personally I think it'd be a shame if this stays as a wontfix. Partly for personal reasons as I keep all apps I've installed myself in a subfolder, but mostly because it looks a little -- I hate to say -- unprofessional, when every other app I've done this to has behaved correctly.
It's a bit like old Windows programs that balk at being installed on a drive other than C: ...
But it's far from being a major problem.
