NAT or network bridge connection via WLAN did not work

Reported by: Axel Pauli Owned by:
Component: network/NAT Version: VirtualBox 3.0.6
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Linux

Description

I use as host windows vista OS latest patch level. It is installed on my laptop. My connetion to the internet is ONLY possible via WLAN. As guest is installed Xubuntu 9.04 in Vbox. When I start Xubuntu in Vbox my LAN connection to the DNS resp. default gateway will be blocked on guest and host side. I could not find out why. I tried all available network cards but no one did work. The last version which do work on my laptop was 2.2.0. All following versions make trouble. As I could find out my problem is only valid for the WLAN connection. If you need further information, please request it. For me is annoying that only the WLAN does not work.

Replying to discus-axel:

It is crasy. The WLAN network issue let me go back to version 2.2.0. I deinstalled version 3.0.6, reboot the laptop and installed 2.2.0. To create the required network tracefiles I have gone the reverse way. Deinstalling 2.2.0, reboot, installing 3.0.6. The result at the moment is that the issue does not more appear. Don't known why and I hope that is a stable situation now. If not you will hear from me again.

Ok, will close for now. If it appears again please attach logs for NAT and bridged networking.
