Description ¶
Running VB 3.0.8 on Win 7 x64 host, and Vista or Win 7 32-bit guests, if more than 1 CPU is allocated to the VM during install and at runtime, the VM is unstable and the guest OS freezes and corrupts the current state. The resolution is to revert to a Snapshot. Setting the CPU to 1 makes the VM stable.
The problem happens randomly, but after no more than 15 minutes of operation. I have seen it during install/uninstall of apps, unzipping, copying (possibly disk activity is a common factor).
The problem causes the VM screen to go black, with reset being the only recourse.
