Description
I used the Virtual Media Manager to add floppy image in the list. Vbox v2.x worked fine. Vbox v3.x crash. All runung VMs crach

Aha, Ubuntu 8.04. This might be a bug in the Qt version they are using (we have several such reports). Please update to VBox 3.0.12 when available. We will compile this package with our own Qt library for Ubuntu 8.04.

Thanks for the feedback. This proves that the reason was a problem of the Qt library which is part of Ubuntu Hardy.
Yes say that all VMs crash when you try to run them. I miss the VBox.log file of such a session.
Regarding the GUI problem: Which Linux distribution is that and which package did you install?
