Description
I installed Virtualbox 3.0.12 on my Dell notebook with Windows XP as the host. After the installation some of my desktop icons got lost (see attached file). The same icons also got lost in the 'Start/Programs' folder. I'd be happy if this problem could be solved. Everything else works fine (using Kubuntu 9.10 as a guest).

Sounds strange to me. Are you sure that you have enough free memory on the host, perhaps your disk is almost full? What happens if you look into the properties of these icons? Is the application still there?

I think that 2GB RAM and 100GB free harddisk space on the host should be OK. The properties of the shortcuts on the desktop are somewhat strange. I cannot change the symbol because the button 'change symbol' is greyed out (but this seems to be something specific to the shortcuts of the Microsoft Office programs, other shortcuts on the desktop are normal).
Everything else works fine, if I doubleclik on an icon the application starts normally. But its annoying that the symbols got lost...
