Guest type: | Windows | Host type: | Linux |
Description
Running Slackware64 13.0 as host, guest operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.
Tried all host audio drivers: OSS, PulseAudio, ALSA
Results:
OSS/PulseAudio - choppy/crackling sound
ALSA - no sound at all, although the green bars show as if sound is being produced within the guest when running tests or changing volume.
Successfully installed Realtek 97 drivers and the device is working properly in guest Windows 7 devmgmt.
Here is the VBox.log when trying to use ALSA as the host audio driver:
00:00:01.661 Audio: Trying driver 'alsa'.
00:00:01.661 Audio: set_record_source ars=0 als=0 (not implemented)

Any ideas on getting ALSA to work properly or to get clear sound using OSS or PulseAudio?
Forgot to mention that ALSA host audio driver works flawlessly if the guest is Windows XP 32-bit.
