Description
The guest addition installer fails to stop service on WinNT. Hence, VBoxServiceNT.exe can't be overwritten during the install. Notice, that it's no problem to go to the control panel and stop the the service by hand. I don't know, why the installer fails to stop the service, but it's an annoying detail that should be easy to fix.

What do you mean? The installer tries to stop the service, and it fails to do so. Manually, it's possible to stop the service. So it's obviously a bug in the installer.

Which guest are you using exactly? NT4? Can you reproduce the error when re-installing the Guest Additions, reboot, and then uninstall them again?

Yes, I'm talking about NT4. Do you want me to perform the steps in this order?
Well, I tried to uninstall them, then rebooted, then installed the guest additions again (went fine), rebooted and installed them again (failed to stop service).

Will try to reproduce the error; stopping VBoxService should work, even on NT4.
Did you try the latest 3.1 version as well? How does this version perform for you, e.g. the error still exists there?
