Description
I first reported this on IRC in #virtualbox, but I hope this will get more traction here:
I found something crazy with Windows 7 RC installed as a guest in VirtualBox (currently at 3.1.0): the sound is ugly, with many glitches and slow. But when a YouTube page is opened in my host (Linux) in Firefox and the video is playing, the sound in Windows 7 becomes perfect, with no glitches and slowness anymore. If I close the YouTube page, the sound becomes ugly again.
Someone on IRC mentioned a problem between PulseAudio and VirtualBox. As opening a YouTube page in the host fixes the problem, couldn't this be a good hint at how to fix the problem? VirtualBox could use some similar hack to work around this problem.
I found tons of related bugs in your bugtracker. Here are some, for the record:

Not sure how you triage them, so I'm filing this one as I mention a workaround.
Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 3.2.10.
