SELinux warning saying VBoxGuestAdditions requires text relocation -> Fixed in SVN/3.1.4

Using a Fedora 12 client on a Windows hosts I get an SELinux saying: SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/Xorg from loading /opt/VBoxGuestAdditions-3.1.0/lib/VBoxOGL.so which requires text relocation.

I logged the bug against Fedora 12 but according to them it's problem with Virtualbox, see the Fedora bug report here. ​https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=544853

According to the developer the library has been built incorrectly and the solution can be found in the following link: ​http://people.redhat.com/~drepper/selinux-mem.html

Nope. Wasn't fixed. It still fails with 3.1.2. (Fedora 10/11, 64-bit)

correction: SELinux problems are not fixed, but the message from SELinux logs now is different (not text relocations), so may worth opening a different bug.

No sorry... I take my words back. I misread the SELinux logs. It is still about "text relocations".

It seems that the fix never got backported to the 3.1 branch. That should now be fixed though. Thanks for pointing it out.

Speaking of branches, it makes sense to check v3.0.x branch as well... My understand that it is "LTS" branch and will be maintained for long time...

Your understanding is not correct, there is no such thing like LTS as we don't provide a direct support for non-paying customers.
