Description (last modified by )
I'm testing Digital Persona Pro 4.1 in a Windows guest that has the Digital Persona Fingerprint 4000B Reader (USB) as the biometric authentication device. I've tested it under Windows 2000 and XP guests and also with Ubuntu Feisty and Gutsy with exactly the same error. When trying to enroll fingerprints, the device starts the scan but "locks" and the fingerprint scan fails. I tried also on a Windows box, same device and software of my guest machine, and it works fine.
I'm not sure how to debug this and I've never had specific hardware problems, so I need some help with this.
Thanks, Guilherme

Try again with 1.5.2 and reopen if necessary.

I've just tested Digital Persona again in a WinXP guest under VirtualBox 1.6.2 on Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 host and I'm experiencing the same fingerprint scan problem. I'm using USB 2.0. What can I do to debug this?

I'm having the same problem above, but I'm running Digital Persona under Win2000 with USB 2.0.
The device appears locked when we try to put the fingerprint.
If someone has any suggestion to solve this.
tks!!

I posted two error messages that I found when I reproduce the same environment that Guilherme used.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
I've just tested the notebook built-in biometric device and it gives the same error under VirtualBox. The device is disconnected from the guest when it appears locked.
