Unable to enter password on Windows XP client under Vista host after logging out

Description
After successfully installing a Windows XP Pro w/SP3 as a client system using VirtualBox 3.1.2 on my Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 host system, when logging off on a client with multiple accounts I can not log back in with restarting the client system due to the password field being unable to receive focus. I also can not bring up the password hint in this situation.

After further testing if I install the guest additions it still occurs even without capture.
