Windows 7 installation of VirtualBox 3.1.2 failed ERROR:1603

Description
I've tried to install VirtualBox-3.1.2-56127-Win.exe on my Windows 7 machine and it fails. My UAC is set to Never Notify.
Versions 3.1.0-55467 and 3.0.12-54655 failed similarly.
This is a fairly clean Windows 7 setup and VirtualBox has never been previously installed.

Same problem here using Windows 7 / 64 bits... and ran in the same error with 3.2.4 Beta 2
I consider testing the following solution... http://www.sharepoint-stuff.com/?p=404 to test the functionnality... but I'd rather have a fixed version of virtualBox...

Same problem using Windows 7 x86 as host, upgrated from Vista. The previous version of VirtualBox did not work, and installing it again is impossible (Error 1603).

My problem was solved by installing the 3.1.4r57640, and doing nothing else.
Im on Win 7 x64, I had Virtual Box running before the update and while it was updating it failed as he describes, leaving me without virtual box.
I am not running any antivirus and my UAc is at maximum(his is at none), I said yes to all dialogs.
