Paste into windows guest from linux host hangs

When copying text from the linux host running Fedora Core 9 X86_64 and pasting into the guest running XP SP3 the program being pasted into hangs and consumes CPU. Problem reproduces using a VM created with VMware as well as with a vbi created from within Virtual box.
Paste works fine if I deinstall the VB add-ons and start the VM under VMware after installing the VMware tools.
Problem reproduces with:
VirtualBox-3.0.6_52128_fedora9-1.x86_64.rpm VirtualBox-3.0.8_53138_fedora9-1.x86_64.rpm
And now with:
VirtualBox-3.1.2-56127-Linux_amd64.run
Guest add-ons were installed from each version and problem still reproduces. The issues sounds a lot like #5584, but I do not see the same messages in the /var/log/messages file.

Attaching a second copy of the VBox.log, as I am not sure I caught the problem on the first one.

Installed 3.1.4 and also installed guest add-ons in the Windows guest. Problem still reproduces.
