"Devices->Install Guest Additions" doesn't mount the CD on ubuntu guest

Description
I'm using vbox 3.2.2, win7 host, ubuntu lucid 10.04 guest.
I installed a fresh ubuntu guest. When I click on "Install Guest Additions" in the Devices menu I see the VboxGuestAdditions.iso CD checked under Devices->CD/DVD devices but the CD is not mounted on the guest.
When I reboot the guest (no need to restart the VM) the CD is mounted and I can install guest additions.
Even if a previous version of guest additions was installed the CD is not mounted without a reboot.

Sorry, so far no idea. It is often related to some guest configuration problems if a CD is not auto-mounted.
