Vbox always captures webcam

Description (last modified by )
Running Vbox 3.2.8. The host is Windows Vista. Guest is Ubuntu 10.4 The laptop has a built-in webcam. When looking at USB devices under Machine when the guest is running, the webcam is NOT checked, but DOES show as captured when hovering the mouse over its listing. The host cannot use the cam at that point, saying an application is using it.
I shut down the guest, went into Settings->USB, and there are no filters defined. I created a filter for the webcam (selecting it from listed device) and unchecked the filter. I started the guest, and the webcam was captured.
It seems the only way to NOT capture the webcam is to uncheck USB entirely in Settings.

I have been encountering the same problem for a long time, and it is still present in VB 4.3.8. I have attached a log file. This problem prevents the use of the camera by the host OS for Skype, etc.

Maybe it's capturing the microphone of your webcam. See if disabling the audio in the guest fixes it.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
Cannot reproduce this on a Windows Vista host. Please attach a VBox.log file of such a VM session when the webcam was automatically captured.
