Description (last modified by )
Hi,
I have virtualized a OEL 5.5 64bits environment that was originally hosted on a Lenovo T410 Laptop, with 8gb of RAM. Keyboard layout is set to French only in Sytem > Preference
From the login screen, there are two problems:
==> Keyboard is US, ie Qwerty, but comes back to Azerty as soon as session is up.
==> The keyboard behavior is eratic from the login, when keying in Username, typing one letter make several letters appear. This happen inconsistently in the login screen but also in any application including shell temrminal.
I disabled usb & Synaptics tap to click, and tested with / without USB mouse connected on the host. No change.
The VBox.log will be posted tomorrow.
I did not experience in XP or Ubuntu Gest.
Best Regards
Sebastien

At least the first issue sounds like something expected. On my Ubuntu host, I have a button in the System/Preferences keyboard section to apply the settings to the whole system ("appliquer à l'ensemble du système..."). If you don't do that then it will presumably only affect your user session, and that only starts after login.
For the second, you might try adding the option "divider=10" on the grub command line of the guest kernel to see if that makes a difference.
