Long running checking disk never ends

Description
This is complicated.
- Once I was running Visual Studio 2010 inside a guest OS Windows 7, and I was trying to close VS2010. The disk light (at bottom of main window) turned on forever. I let it run for hours and it just stayed the same.
- Then I had to forcibly reset it and restart the guest OS.
- Then I wanted to do a chkdsk /f c:. Then it came that it stopped at 0% forever even after 12 hours.

Try to decrease the host memory. You have only 1GB host RAM so 512MB guest RAM is sometimes just too much. Also check if upgrading to VBox 4.0.4 improves things.
